Why I love the dub

{I love this picture... haha}

I love America's 43d President. After all of the interviews and specials about his new autobiography, my love for George W. Bush (affectionately referred to as "the dub" by yours truly) has be rekindled. What an incredible, God fearing man. Not only is he the most handsome Pres America has ever had, he is a pretty cool guy.

Upon leaving office the dub didn't go around bashin Barack Obama. He didn't laugh in his face or give his opinion or Obama's new policies. He simply retreated to Texas. Fell off the radar. In his interview with Matt Lauer he states that "Barack Obama has enough critics, I am not going to be one of them".

I love how blunt the dub is in his interview. When asked about some things, the former Pres laughs and says that he doesn't really care. As they discussed the dub's approval ratings he chuckles and talks about how he doesn't really care what his approval ratings were. I got tickled at how matter of fact the dub got. At one point Matt Lauer asked the dub if he will be judge as a success or a failure. The dub's response: "I hope I'm judged a success. I'm gonna be dead, Matt, when they finally figure it out and I'm comfortable knowing I gave it my all, that I love America, and that uh, I know it's an honor to serve". What more could you ask of a man running our country?

On The Today Show the dub talks about the thing he misses most about being President is being Commander and Chief. He recounts how it feels to salute a soldier and the soldier salute back. He then describes his pure love for our troops. He got me in the gut on that one. He LOVES America and he APPRECIATES our armed forces (and I love him).

So, Monday night I sat on my couch and remembered a time when a man of faith was in the Oval Office. I cried watching the 911 footage and Hurrican Katrina account. Then, I got in bed and said a prayer for 2012. God bless America and God Bless our troops. Happy Early Veteran's Day.
